Answers to Your Questions & Silk Care Tips
- Hand wash gently: Wash in cool water with diluted body wash or shampoo. Never machine wash or use detergent with strong bleaching agents.
- Do not wring or twist the silk. Gently press out excess water, then lay it flat on a dry towel to absorb moisture before hanging to dry.
- Dry in a shaded, cool area: Hang the item flat on a smooth plastic hanger or a smooth wooden rod. Do not use sharp metal clips, as they can snag or damage the silk threads.
- Avoid direct sunlight entirely, as it can make the fabric brittle and fade the silk’s natural color.
- Use a steam iron whenever possible: Iron gently on the dedicated ‘SILK’ setting or the lowest heat setting. Glide the steam over the fabric from about 3-5cm away to instantly smooth out the silk.
- Do not press a high-heat iron directly onto dry silk fibers.
- Hang naturally flat: Hang separately on a hanger in a spacious closet to avoid friction with metal zippers or jewelry that could snag the fibers.
- Avoid storing silk in damp or moldy areas — use sachets or moisture-absorbing packets to help keep the silk soft.

Yes. In addition to ready-made pieces in standard sizes, Nha Lua offers consultation and can adjust or custom-tailor garments based on your actual measurements, ensuring your áo dài / ceremonial attire fits your body perfectly.
Is mulberry silk difficult to care for?
Natural mulberry silk is very soft and gentle on the skin, but it does require a bit more careful care. We recommend hand washing gently with shampoo or body wash, drying in a cool, shaded area away from strong sunlight, and ironing on a low heat setting designed specifically for silk.
